Last updated February 28, 2020
This Privacy Notice for eero Websites describes information that eero LLC (“eero”) collects, uses, shares, and stores, including Personal Data (defined below). This notice focuses on information related to the operation of the public websites available at eero.com and eero.com sub-domains (each, a “Site”), including our online store.
eero has designed a home WiFi system, consisting of a combination of WiFi network hardware devices (“eero Device(s)”) and eero Device software that can be accessed via the eero mobile application (the “Application”) and online services that we provide to users of eero Devices and eero Application(s) (“Services”, and together with the eero Devices and the Application, the “Products”). We provide additional details about how we collect and use information from our Products in our Privacy Notice for Devices, Applications and Services.
Our Privacy Promise (as described in detail in this Privacy Notice):
We will be clear about the different types of information we collect and how we use them.
We will use world-class data security tools to keep your data safe and protect it from unauthorized access.
International data transfers: by accessing our Sites and providing us with data, you acknowledge and agree that your Personal Data may be collected, processed and stored by eero or its service providers in the United States and other countries where our or our service providers’ servers reside. Please be aware that the privacy protections and legal requirements, including the rights of authorities to access your personal information, in some of these countries may not be equivalent to those in your country. If you are accessing the Sites from the European Economic Area or other regions with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from United States law, you agree to the transfer of your Personal Data to the United States and other countries where eero operates.
Questions; contacting eero; reporting violations.
If you have any questions, concerns or complaints about our Privacy Notice or our data collection or processing practices, please contact us via e-mail at privacy@eero.com. User consent
By submitting Personal Data through our Site, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Notice, and you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Data in accordance with this Privacy Notice.
A note about children
This Site is intended for use by adults over the age of 18. We do not intentionally gather Personal Data from Site visitors who are minors (and our Services are not directed at minor children). If you’re under the age of 18, you may use this Site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
Types of data we collect
“Personal Data” means data that allows someone to identify or contact you, including, for example, your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, as well as any other non-public information about you that is associated with or linked to any of the foregoing data, and may also include IP addresses, headers, firmware data, or clickstream data (collectively “Site Data”), to the extent that such data is associated with or linked to data that allows someone to identify or contact you.
“Anonymous Data” means data that, either in its original form or as the result of anonymization procedures that we perform on Personal Data, is not associated with or linked to your Personal Data; Anonymous Data does not, by itself, permit the identification of individual persons. We collect Personal Data and Anonymous Data as described below.
We aim to ensure that any Personal Data we have collected is accurate, complete and current as required for the purposes for which the information is used. However, we require your assistance to help us. If we have Personal Data about you that is not accurate, please let us know at the contact information provided above.
Information you provide to us
We may collect Personal Data from you, such as your first name, last name, e-mail, city, province/state, and telephone number(s) when you create an account to purchase a Product from us on our Site (“Site Account”). When you order our Products on our Site, we, or our payment processors, will collect all information necessary to complete the transaction, including your name, phone number, credit card information, billing information and shipping information. This information may be shared with third parties who help process and fulfill your purchases. If you use our configuration recommendation tool (the “Quiz”), we will collect information you provide about the physical layout of your home and the identity of your internet service provider.
If you provide us feedback or contact us via e-mail, we will collect your name and e-mail address, as well as any other content included in the e-mail, in order to send you a reply. When you participate in one of our surveys, we may collect additional profile information. We may also collect Personal Data at other points in our Site that state that Personal Data is being collected.
Information collected via technology
- Information collected by our servers
To make our Site and Services more useful to you, our servers (which may be hosted by a third party service provider) collect information from you, including your browser type, operating system, Internet Protocol (“IP”) address (a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet, which may vary from session to session), domain name, and/or a date/time stamp for your visit.
- Log files
As is true of most websites and applications, our Site will gather certain information automatically and store it in log files. This information includes IP addresses, browser type, ISP, referring/exit pages, operating system, date/time stamp, and mobile device identifier or manufacturer data. We use this information to provide the Services, analyze trends, administer the Site, track users’ movements around the Site, gather demographic information about our user base as a whole, and better tailor our Services to our users’ needs. For example, some of the information may be collected so that when you visit the Site or the Services again, it will recognize you and the information could then be used to serve advertisements and other information appropriate to your interests.
- Cookies
Like many online services, we use cookies to collect information. “Cookies” are small pieces of information that a website sends to your computer’s hard drive while you are viewing the website. We may use both session Cookies (which expire once you close your web browser) and persistent Cookies (which stay on your computer until you delete them) to provide you with a more personal and interactive experience on our Site. This type of information is collected to make the Site more useful to you and to tailor the experience with us to meet your special interests and needs.
- Pixel Tags
In addition, we use “Pixel Tags” (also referred to as clear GIFs, web beacons, or web bugs). Pixel Tags are tiny graphic images with a unique identifier, similar in function to Cookies, that are used to track online movements of web users. In contrast to Cookies, which are stored on a user’s computer hard drive, Pixel Tags are embedded invisibly in web pages. Pixel Tags also allow us to tell whether e-mails have been opened to ensure that we are sending only messages that are of interest to our users. We may use this information to reduce or eliminate messages sent to a user.
- How we respond to do not track signals
We do not currently respond to “do not track” signals or other mechanisms that might enable consumers to opt out of tracking on our Site. The only way to completely “opt out” of the collection of any information through cookies or other tracking technology is to actively manage the settings on your browser or mobile device to delete and disable cookies and other tracking/recording tools. (To learn more about cookies, clear GIFs/web beacons and related technologies, you may wish to visit https://cookiesandyou.com/).
We permit third-party advertising partners to use cookies, Pixel Tags and other technology to collect information about your browsing activities over time and across different websites when you use our Site. For example, we use advertising services provided by third-party ad partners, to market our services to you on other websites and online services. Through a process called “retargeting,” each service places a cookie on your browser when you visit our Site so that they can identify you and serve you ads on other sites around the web based on your browsing activity. To avoid use of this information for advertising by these third-party ad partners, you can change your browser settings to reject cookies or to notify you when cookies are set and you could select the Do Not Track option on your browser, though we have no control over and cannot confirm whether these third party ad parties honor the Do Not Track browser signal. Additionally, many advertising companies are members of the NAI or DAA and/or provide opt-outs on those industry pages. To learn how to opt out of ad network interest- based advertising in the U.S., please visit www.aboutads.info/choices, http://www.networkadvertising.org/choices/, and http://preferences-mgr.truste.com/. Please note that your opt out choices are browser and device specific. If you use different browsers or devices, you must set your preferences for each one. If you delete or reset your cookie cache, you may also need to reset your preferences.
- Analytics Services
We use third party analytics services (“Analytics Services”) to help analyze how users use our Site and Services. We use the information we get from Analytics Services only to improve our Site and Services. The information generated by the Cookies or other technologies about your use of our Site (the “Analytics Information”) is transmitted to the Analytics Services. The Analytics Services use Analytics Information to compile reports on user activity. The Analytics Services may also transfer the Analytics Information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process Analytics Information on their behalf. Each Analytics Service’s ability to use and share Analytics Information is restricted by such Analytics Service’s Terms of Use and Privacy Notice. By using our Site and Services, you consent to the processing of data about you by Analytics Services in the manner and for the purposes set out above. A full list of Analytics Services is available here.

If we choose to post your first and last name along with your feedback, we will obtain your consent prior to posting your last name with your feedback. If you make any comments on a blog or forum associated with our Site, you should be aware that any Personal Data you submit there can be read, collected, or used by other users of these forums, and could be used to send you unsolicited messages. We are not responsible for the personally identifiable information you choose to submit in these blogs and forums.
Creation of Anonymous Data
We may create Anonymous Data records from Personal Data by excluding information (such as your name, email address, or IP address) that makes the data personally identifiable to you. In the event of an insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership, Personal Data may also be transferred as a business asset. If another company acquires our company, business, or assets, that company will possess the Personal Data collected by us and will assume the rights and obligations regarding your Personal Data as described in this Privacy Notice.
Custom Audiences.
We may use marketing tools such as Facebook's Custom Audience and Lookalike Audience programs that enable us to display personalized ads to eero customers as well as consumers with characteristics similar to those of our existing eero customers. To identify our existing customers to Facebook and determine relevant characteristics of our existing customer base, we may process your email address and phone number through Facebook’s “hashing” local browser application that converts this information to a string of alphanumeric data that is then sent to Facebook to enable Facebook to identify you (Custom Audiences) and identify other Facebook users with similar profile characteristics (Lookalike Audiences). You may opt out of future participation in our Facebook Custom Audience and Lookalike Audience program by sending an email, from the email address you are opting out of, to the email address provided in our contact information above. For your opt out to be effective, you must: (i) place the following text in the subject line of the email - "Opting Out of Facebook Website Custom Audience Ads", and (ii) in the body of the email, include your name and email address. We will remove your name and email address from all of our future Facebook Custom Audience and Lookalike Audience datasets. In addition, you can use the Facebook advertiser preferences and settings available through Facebook’s account and privacy management features to hide any future ads from eero.
Other disclosures
Regardless of any choices you make regarding your Personal Data (as described below), eero may disclose Personal Data if it believes in good faith that such disclosure is necessary (a) in connection with any legal investigation; (b) to comply with relevant laws or to respond to subpoenas or warrants served on eero or as otherwise permissible by law; (c) to protect or defend the rights or property of eero or its users of the Site or Services; and/or (d) to investigate or assist in preventing any violation or potential violation of the law, this Privacy Notice, or our Terms of Service.
