What is Block & Allow Sites?

Block & Allow Sites is an eero Plus feature that lets you manually block or allow specific websites and domains. You can apply settings to your entire network or to individual Profiles.

Note: Content Filters block broad categories. Block & Allow Sites gives you control over individual domains.

How do I block or allow a site?

You have two options: apply settings to your entire network, or customize them for a specific Profile.

For your entire network

  1. On the eero App Home tab, tap Security & privacy to see a list of eero Plus features

  2. Tap the list to open the eero Plus page

  3. Tap Network controls

  4. Tap Block & Allow Sites

  5. Tap Add Blocked Site to add a blocked domain, or switch to Allowed, and tap Add Allowed Site to add an allowed domain

  6. Type in the desired site or domain under Domain

  7. Tap the Network toggle button so the domain is blocked/allowed on your entire eero network

  8. Once you're ready, tap Save

For a Profile

  1. On the eero App Home tab, tap the Profile you want to block/allow a domain for

  2. Tap Block & Allow Sites

  3. Tap Add Blocked Site to add a blocked domain, or switch to Allowed, and tap Add Allowed Site to add an allowed domain

  4. Type in the desired site or domain under Domain

  5. Tap the Network toggle button so the domain is blocked/allowed on your entire eero network

  6. Once you're ready, tap Save

How do I delete a site from the Block & Allow Sites list?

You can delete sites from your entire network or from a specific Profile.

For your entire network

  1. On the eero App Home tab, tap Security & privacy to see a list of eero Plus features

  2. Tap the list to open the eero Plus page

  3. Tap Network controls

  4. Tap Block & Allow Sites

  5. Tap the desired domain in the Blocked or Allowed list

  6. Tap Delete Site

  7. On the pop-up "Are you sure you want to delete this site?" tap Delete Site again to confirm

For a Profile

  1. On the eero App Home tab, tap the Profile you want to update

  2. Tap Block & Allow Sites

  3. Tap the desired domain in the Blocked or Allowed list

  4. Tap Delete Site

  5. On the pop-up "Are you sure you want to delete this site?" tap Delete Site again to confirm

How do domains work in Block & Allow Sites?

Domains are based on their Fully-Qualified Domain Name (FQDN). You can manage domains at any level of the hierarchy.

Note: Allowed Sites always take priority over Content Filters and Blocked Sites.

Domain Examples

  • example.com — Affects the entire domain

  • subdomain.example.com — Affects only that subdomain

  • org — Affects all .org domains

Common Mistakes

  • www.example.com

    • Enter example.com instead. "www." only blocks that subdomain.

  • https://example.com

    • Enter example.com instead. URLs aren't accepted — use FQDNs.

  • example.com/page

    • Enter example.com instead. Pages are removed automatically.

  • *.org

    • Enter org instead. Just enter the TLD name.
